Today, after a beautiful prayer on the Miracle of Life, led by Alessandra Cironi, of Italy, we delved into the challenging area of bioethics with a presentation entitled Genomics and Bioethics: Ethical Aspects of a Revolution in Progress. The talk was given by one of our former students, Dr. Catalina Lopez-Correa, from Medellin, who proudly attributes her love of science to Sisters Marta Sanchez and Beatriz Acosta! Catalina is currently Vice-President of the University of Genome Science, in Montreal, Canada. Catalina covered a myriad of topics and suggestions which brought with it many challenges and responsibilities!
Our afternoon discussion groups centered on the topic selected for the day Interculturality and Universal Responsibility, at which time each participant shared from his/her own reality.
In the evening our lay collaborators had a much-deserved rest in the form of an evening out in Rome!
