The end of “Thee Chapter”,

Today, as we come to the end of a chapter in our lives…the end of “Thee Chapter”, we realize that it is the beginning of a new hope after living a grace-filled, month-long experience. Together, religious and laity, we searched for meaning to Culture, Identity, Interculturality, Universality from the Perspective of the Kingdom. We have come to a newfound understanding of these themes through prayer and working together. An integral part of our processes was discernment in the Ignatian spirit. It was only fitting that we ended our Chapter today with a celebration of the liturgy at the Jesu, where Saint Ignatius of Loyola is buried. The beautiful liturgy was celebrated by the Jesuit Superior General, Father Adolfo Nicolás, who spoke beautifully on identity and interculturality. He had great insights as he just returned last night from a trip to Asia and Africa!

We pray that as we return to our communities and ministries with renewed vigor that we will continue living “from the perspective of the Kingdom” with Mary, “the synthesis of our identity”, and our foundress, Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac, as we live out her educational charism, and respond to the challenge to “Cast out our nets”…
